Join our team and see how far your skills can take you.About the roleLeveraging theirexperience in M&A, restructuring, insolvency, or crisis response, the Manager, Transaction Readiness, helps prepare CDIC for the failure or financial distress of a member institution. The role supports planning and coordination so the organization can respond quickly and effectively. The Manager leads projects that improve the tools, processes, and guidance used by the wider complement of CDIC staff and works with others to test and strengthen how the organization responds. While working alongside those who conduct significant quantitative analysis, this is not a quantitative analysis role. This position reports to the Director, Transaction Readiness. The Manager may work with teams across the organization, including Legal, Policy, and Communications, and externally with vendors, regulators, and member institutions as required.This role can be performed from ourOttawa or Torontooffices, following a hybrid model approach. We are looking to staff threefull-time permanent positions.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES required for this roleHelp plan and carry out the response if a member institution fails or is in financial distress,



with a focus on transactional readiness and execution.Create, update, and monitor procedures that support the organization’s response options.Identify and address impediments which may frustrate the resolution of a failing or failed member institution.Plan and coordinate internal testing and training exercises so staff are prepared to respond when needed.Provide advice to the Director and senior leaders, both verbally and in writing.Develop and maintain documentation to explain and support the execution of resolution options.Build strong working relationships with regulators, vendors, and stakeholders.About youYou take pride in the work that you do and are passionate about making a difference andan impact. You face challenges head-on, are an excellent communicator and collaborator, and act with integrity.SKILLSThe Manager should possess some of these attributes and will be expected to develop the others during their tenure:Strong knowledge of federal financial institutions and the Canadian financial sectorTransactions planning and execution experience (e.G., M&A, deal advisory, corporate restructuring, bankruptcy & insolvency)Project management, esp. involving interdisciplinary teams and use of consultantsFamiliarity with financial accounting, financial risk management,



valuationsClear and concise written and oral communication skillsProcess design and improvementInnovative and creative problem-solving skillsComfortable acting in stressful or crisis situations.Required EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEUniversity degree and/or a minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in finance, economics, accounting, law, or related field.Qualified designations: CFA, CPA, LIT, CIRP, FRM are considered an asset.Must haveLanguage Requirements:Bilingual Imperative: Level (BBB/BBB) or willingness to obtainSecurity Clearance:Eligibility to obtain a Secret-level security clearanceClosing DateApplications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with priority given to applications received bySeptember 18,2026.
