Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Steel Welder to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and erecting structural and miscellaneous packages in Calgary and surrounding areas. Your expertise will ensure that all steel structures meet precise specifications, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.

Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble steel structures.
- Use plasma cutting tools, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to shape and prepare materials for welding.
- Rigging materials securely for lifting and positioning using cranes or forklifts, ensuring protected handling of heavy steel parts.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and alignment according to specifications.
- Assemble steel frameworks, ductwork, or other structural elements following detailed schematics and engineering instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times during fabrication and assembly processes.Requirements
- Proven experience in structural steel welding with a strong background in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery such as plasma cutters, press brakes, forklifts, cranes, and machining tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; familiarity with schematics related to construction or manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Skilled in rigging, assembly, ductwork fabrication, and the use of hand tools, power tools, calipers, and basic math for measurements.
- Knowledge of welding safety standards and experience working in manufacturing or construction environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical instructions quickly and efficiently.
- Valid certification in welding (such as AWS or equivalent) preferred; construction experience is a plus.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and work at heights when necessary.
