This two-year position under Dr. Mathieu Bourbonnais focuses on multidisciplinary research involving prescribed fire operations, fire behaviour modelling, and ecological restoration. Your expertise in fire behaviour, remote sensing, and machine learning will be pivotal in collaborations with government agencies and Indigenous communities across Canada. Fieldwork and possible international travel are required as part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:



• Design fire behaviour and climate modelling analyses • Analyze remote sensing datasets relevant to fire • Develop machine learning methods for data analysis • Create reproducible computational workflows • Prepare manuscripts and presentations for publication

Requirements: • PhD in wildfire science, forestry, or related field • Experience with fire behaviour modelling systems • Robust background in climate modelling techniques • Proficient in remote sensing methods • Peer-reviewed publications in relevant areas
