RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher and principal to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that reflect the Full-Day Early Learning-Kindergarten Program
- Co-facilitate play-based activities that allow students to demonstrate learning related to the four frames of the Full-Day Early Learning-Kindergarten Program
- Effectively and efficiently observe and document student learning using a variety of tools and techniques to assist the educator in the assessment of the development of students
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher to promote and maintain a healthy physical, emotional and social learning environment
- Assume other duties/responsibilities specifically related to the functions of children and the effective delivery of the Early Learning Curriculum as determined by the Principal and the Superintendent of Education
ASSETS
- Thorough understanding of the Ministry of Educations Full-Day Early Learning-Kindergarten Program
- Thorough understanding of the developmental continuum for this age group
- Demonstrated appropriate behaviour management techniques with individuals, small and large groups
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills in working with students, teachers, principals, and families
- Demonstrated professional communication skills
Salary in accordance with the current OSSTF-DECE collective agreement Collective Agreement
$25.03 per hour - $33.80 per hour
