Overview An individual who uses a wheelchair is seeking caring, compassionate, and reliable Personal Care Attendants to provide assistance with daily personal care and household activities in a private home.
Training will be provided.
Duties
Responsibilities may include
Assisting with transfers and mobility
Bathing and personal hygiene
Dressing
Catheter care and bowel routine
Meal preparation
Light housekeeping
Turning and repositioning in bed
Operating mobility and personal care equipment as required
Qualifications
Previous experience in personal support work, caregiving, nursing, or a related field is an asset but not required
Training will be provided
CPR certification is an asset
Comfortable learning to use mobility and personal care equipment, including a Hoyer lift
Able to safely assist with the physical aspects of personal care, including transfers, repositioning, dressing, and mobility assistance
Comfortable providing personal care in a private home
Reliable and punctual
Valuable time management and ability to follow instructions
Willingness to learn new tasks and procedures
Police record check required
Valid G Class driver's licence and reliable transportation are assets but are not required

Additional Information: This position is funded through the Direct Funding Self-Managed Attendant Care Services Program. The successful applicant will be employed directly by an individual self-manager.
