Join our dynamic ophthalmology team as an Ophthalmic Technician, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and vision health. In this vital role, you will assist ophthalmologists in delivering eye care by conducting diagnostic tests, taking patient histories, assisting with clinical procedures and supporting the overall flow of the clinic. The role requires solid technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent patient care in a fast-paced setting.
Duties
Prepare patients for examinations by taking medical and ocular histories
Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, visual field testing, fundus photography and OCT imaging
Administer eye drops and medications as directed by the physician
Prepare patients for eye exams and explain procedures
Assist ophthalmologist with minor in-office procedures
Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic instruments and equipment
Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked and ready for use
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure
Attention to detail and accuracy in clinical documentation
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
