Taverna Mercatto, located in the heart of downtown Toronto just steps from Scotiabank Arena, is looking for a Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team. If you bring warmth, personality, and love hospitality, we’d love to meet you.
WHO YOU ARE Proven experience as an Assistant General Manager or Senior Restaurant Manager
A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
Strong leadership and people-management skills
Highly organized, with confidence in scheduling, labour management, and cost controls
Comfortable using OpenTable, Navi, and TripleSeat (or similar systems)
Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
WHAT YOU’LL DO Lead daily service with a strong, visible presence on the floor
Train, and support front-of-house team members
Oversee scheduling and manage labour based on business needs
Coordinate reservations, group bookings, and event execution
Partner with kitchen to ensure seamless service




Maintain strong knowledge of cocktails, bar, and menu offerings
