Salary Range: $33,000.00 To $36,000.00 Annually Tyndale is a Christian university that prepares leaders for work in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, ministry and the global mission of the church. POSITION PURPOSE

Assists the TWC Director in providing strategic leadership and oversight of the Tyndale Wellness Centre and its mandate of facilitating wellness to Tyndale and the external community through direct psychotherapy and other related services, partnering with church communities / Christian organizations in meeting the wellness needs of their ministries, providing professional development programming and contributing to the field of research. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

Develops policies and procedures related to clinical aspects of the services to student and community clients as well as supervision Ensures clinical practices adhere to the standards of the regulatory college for psychotherapy and other applicable professional organizations Provides leadership in recruiting, developing, and supervising interns, and assists in recruiting and supervising independent contract therapists who serve both students and the public. Stays current on areas relevant to the position and psychotherapy field; attends professional development activities and training relevant to position Manages the effective development, delivery, and evaluation of required services for specific programs (such as MDiv Counseling majors and the D.Min program), supervises the clinicians in these programs, and liaises with the academic coordinators. Assists in the development, monitoring and provision of services for emergency/crisis session clients or persons who “drop in” for services. Assists the Director in developing programming and services, strategic direction for the department, creating and maintaining effective services for students, and preparing assessments, reports and recommendations for re-structuring process and implementing approved changes. Responsible for ongoing development, update,



implementation and training of PRISM database and on-line clinical services and other technology resources in collaboration with Tyndale IT department and consistent with CRPO and Tyndale standards. Represents / substitutes for the Director as required Intake and Placement

Assists in the development, training, implementation and management of new or amendments to the intake system for student and community clients Clinical Supervision

Oversees clinical supervision of therapists Ensures department follows standards set by AAMFT/CACFT and CRPO for clinical supervision and supervisors-in-training. Brings to clinical supervision knowledge of the leading current and historical therapeutic models and the ability to work with them and an understanding of and ability to help therapists develop in the “safe and effective use of self” within their psychotherapeutic work. Other Activities

Oversees collection and organization of statistical data needed for reports, research, etc. development. Maintains a clinical caseload consistent with contract Marketing and Promotion of Programs and Services

Assists in elevating the profile and community awareness of programs and services, working closely with the Director and Administrative Supervisor Promotes students’ services within Tyndale to various programs, classes Revenue Generation and Budget Management

Provides ideas for and feedback on revenue-generating activities of the department to sustain and advance operations. Contributes to preparing an annual budget with projected revenue from all sources and direct expenses, with the goal not only of cost recovery but supplemental reserves for new initiatives or unanticipated developments. Represents the department at other staff and Tyndale community events. Contributes to periodic reports and updates of programs and services, upon request, to boards/departments within Tyndale. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

a) Education

Graduate degree in clinical counselling/psychotherapy/marriage and family therapy.



Maintains membership in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO) as a Registered Psychotherapist (RP). Qualified to supervise RPs and students working toward registration or are registered with the CRPO. Member in good standing with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) as a Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor and / or member in good standing with the Canadian Association for Couple and Family Therapy (CACFT). Qualified to be a Supervisor Mentor. b) Experience

Exemplary record of psychotherapy experience and supervision Administrative skills needed for management position (e.g. computer skills, financial skills, some knowledge of statistics and research). Experience as an intern, volunteer therapist, supervisor, and/or consultant with Tyndale Wellness Centre preferred. Graduate or professor of Tyndale MDiv (Counselling) program an asset Minimum of 4 years related experience. Current knowledge of and adherence to the CRPO and AAMFT/CACFT Code of Ethics, psychotherapy jurisprudence, and standards of practice related to therapy and supervision. c) Skills and Abilities
