Empower Indigenous students at TM Roberts Elementary as an Indigenous Support Worker. Collaborate with community and school to foster a supportive educational setting.This permanent role is dedicated to providing support to Indigenous ancestry children, enhancing their educational experiences. You will work closely with the Indigenous Education Leadership and various community organizations, promoting strategies informed by your understanding of Indigenous histories and cultures.
Strong advocacy and communication abilities will be essential.Key Responsibilities:- Serve as a liaison between schools and Indigenous families- Develop culturally relevant strategies and support programs- Participate in school team meetings and intervention programs- Collect and analyze data to support educational outcomes- Work alongside Elders to provide holistic support for studentsRequirements:- Valid British Columbia Driver's License- Education in counselling or Indigenous studies- Minimum one year’s relevant experience in education or community work- Strong written and verbal communication skills- Awareness of Indigenous students' backgrounds and needsSupport Indigenous educational success and create a cultural gathering space at TM Roberts Elementary as an Indigenous Support Worker.#J-18808-Ljbffr
