We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in providing high-quality food service. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent teamwork skills, and a strong work ethic.
Prior experience in a kitchen setting is a plus but not required, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable culinary experience in a professional setting.
Responsibilities
Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
Support chefs and cooks with ingredient organization and inventory management
Ensure proper storage of food items and monitor expiration dates
Help with dishwashing and sanitation procedures to ensure a hygienic workspace
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Follow all safety protocols and proper handling procedures for kitchen tools and equipment
Requirements
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workplace while maintaining attention to detail
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 pounds
Basic knowledge of food safety standards is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends if required
A positive attitude and willingness to learn current skills
