We are seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic, or someone with good general mechanical ability who is able to work independently, as well as with supervision.
Must have positive understanding of DC wiring, diesel engine systems, maintenance, and operation. Basic understanding of hydraulics, and fabricating skills is a bonus.
Work is conducted out of Shelter Island Boatyard in Richmond. Must have drivers license as work is often mobile.

Requirements
Proven experience as a mechanic with a strong background in heavy equipment repair, marine mechanical work, or engine repair.
Drivers License
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with mechanic duties.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Teardown and rebuilding
Parts installation
Must be able to take instruction and work independently as required
