Job Overview
We are seeking a an experienced and dependable journeyman welder to join our team. We are a busy steel fabrication and manufacturing shop looking for a skilled welder who takes pride in their workmanship, pays attention to detail, and can work efficiently in a production workplace
Duties
Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding to join metal parts according to detailed schematics and blueprints.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute fabrication tasks.
Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and measuring devices such as micrometers to ensure precise measurements and fit.
Operate plasma cutters, forklifts, cranes, and other manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
Conduct rigging operations for lifting heavy components using cranes or other mechanical means.
Assist in machining processes when necessary, utilizing basic math skills for measurements and adjustments.
Assemble fabricated parts into final products or structures while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Journeyman/Woman Welder with strong proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings required for fabrication tasks.
Ability to operate plasma cutting tools, press brake machines, forklifts, cranes, power tools, hand tools, and other manufacturing equipment safely.
Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools for precise fabrication work.
Construction or manufacturing experience preferred.
Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during fabrication.
Valid certifications in welding (including MIG and TIG), rigging or crane operation are highly desirable.
Solid attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a quick-paced workplace.
Must be CWB certified.
