Position Overview:

We are seeking a high-performing Application Engineer – Team Lead to join a leading financial institution in Toronto. This role blends strong hands-on development expertise with team leadership capabilities, driving solution design, delivery, and a continuous delivery culture within an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable microservices and enterprise solutions across all lifecycle phases.
Drive shared service strategies, automation, causal analysis, and the implementation of reusable components.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical and architectural issues.
Guide and mentor development team members, fostering high performance and adhering to best coding practices.
Collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate architecture decisions and business impacts.





Required Technical Skills & Qualifications 8+yrs of the following:
Core Development: Solid hands-on experience in Core Java, Spring Framework / Spring Boot, Transaction Management, and Hibernate/JPA.
Microservices & Messaging: Deep understanding of API and Microservices architecture at scale, XML, JSON, and event streaming with Kafka.
Database Management: Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle DB, SQL).
Containerization & CI/CD: Experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes, Git, and operating in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) environments.
Testing & Quality: Knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD), JUnit, and automated testing frameworks (Cucumber).
Industry Domain: Proven IT experience in full SDLC (Agile/Waterfall), ideally within the financial services sector.
