The External Chair role is essential for steering board and annual meetings, accountable to the Board of Directors. You will chair two meetings a month and two general sessions yearly, ensuring adherence to Robert’s Rules of Order. This position demands excellent communication skills and a skilled demeanor while accommodating participants effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate board meetings and general meetings consistently
• Interpret meeting issues using the Societies Act and related provisions
• Ensure accurate recording of decisions with staff
• Assist student leaders with necessary meeting accommodations
• Maintain professionalism and impartiality during elections
Requirements:
• Minimum two years experience chairing board meetings
• Robust knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Well-organized and personable with students
• Relevant education or equivalent experience may apply
