Position Summary
Seeking a reliable Heavy Oil Field Operator to oversee the daily operation, monitoring, and optimization of conventional heavy-oil wells in the Macklin area.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily well, lease, tank, and equipment inspections.
Check and record fluid levels and adjust pump RPM to optimize production and prevent pump-off.
Monitor oil and water production, tank levels, casing/tubing pressures, temperatures, and other operating parameters.
Operate and troubleshoot PCP systems, driveheads, engines, hydraulic systems, wellheads, tanks, and burners/heaters.
Check engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, gearbox oil, fuel, and other equipment fluid levels.
Identify production problems, leaks, abnormal equipment operation, and declining well performance.
Perform basic preventative maintenance and minor field repairs.
Gauge tanks, collect samples, and coordinate oil/water hauling as required.
Coordinate and supervise field contractors, including pressure trucks,
flushby units, vacuum trucks, mechanics, electricians, and service rigs.
Maintain accurate daily production, downtime, maintenance, and well-performance records.
Maintain clean and secure leases and monitor containment/berms for spills or environmental concerns.
Follow all Bucking Horse. HSE procedures and Saskatchewan regulatory requirements and promptly report incidents or equipment failures.
Qualifications
Previous heavy-oil field operating experience preferred.
Experience with PCP wells, driveheads, engines, tank batteries, burners, and production optimization is an asset.
Robust mechanical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently.
Valid driver's licence.
H2S Alive, First Aid/CPR, and WHMIS preferred.
Pay: $50.00-$80.00 per hour
