As a Senior Claims Legal Counsel, you will carry a diverse case load regarding auto claims, accident benefits, and commercial lines. With over seven years of insurance defence experience, your role will include drafting legal documents and conducting examinations for discovery. You will also attend court for hearings and trials, contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere that prioritizes exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently manage a litigation case load from start to finish
• Defend various claims including auto and commercial lines
• Provide liability and quantum of damages assessments
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal opinions
• Attend court and licence tribunal proceedings
Requirements:
• Juris Doctor or Bachelor's degree in Law
• Minimum seven years in insurance defence litigation
• Member in good standing with Law Society of Ontario
• Proven trial and arbitration experience
• Solid drafting and assessment capabilities
