Lead Indigenous educational initiatives as an Itinerant Cultural and Instructional Facilitator for Simcoe County District School Board. This role supports cultural responsiveness and student achievement.
Starting
September 2026, this temporary position invites applications from qualified SCDSB Elementary Teachers. You will work within schools to enhance intercultural understanding and develop educational resources related to Indigenous practices. Collaboration with community members and educators is crucial for embedding authentic Indigenous perspectives in curriculum design and classroom instruction. Key Responsibilities:
Develop intercultural understanding frameworks for schools
Ensure support for FNMI student well-being
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic student support
Train staff on Indigenous educational integration
Maintain ongoing communication with Indigenous Education leadership Requirements:
Lived experience of First Nations, Métis, or Inuit ancestry
Valid Ontario Teacher's Certificate
Comprehensive knowledge of Indigenous issues
Proven cooperative skills in educational settings
Passion for culturally responsive pedagogy Be an advocate for Indigenous knowledge and enhance the educational landscape for all students.
