RRC Polytech seeks an Indigenous Centre Coordinator to support cultural events and programming in a hybrid role at its South Winnipeg Campus. Engage deeply with Indigenous cultures and coordinate initiatives for student success.
In this full-time term position, reporting to the Manager of Indigenous Student Supports, the Indigenous Centre Coordinator will oversee the Elders in Residence Program. Key responsibilities include scheduling, event coordination, and maintaining the Indigenous Support Centre, fostering community relationships and cultural appreciation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise Elders in Residence and coordinate scheduling
• Organize cultural events like Sweat Lodge Ceremonies and Teachings
• Manage bookings and maintenance of the Indigenous Support Centre
• Collaborate for college-wide events with Indigenous Education team
• Facilitate engagements that honor Indigenous traditions
Requirements:
• Diploma in Social Innovation, Event Planning, or related field
• Robust knowledge of Indigenous culture and community practices
• Experience in project management and scheduling
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
