Reporting to the Manager of Procurement Services, this Buyer position focuses on sourcing equipment, materials, and services while managing maintenance, repair, and operations supplies. Candidate skills will include overseeing inventory levels, vendor negotiations, and ensuring compliance with protocols. You will execute purchasing responsibilities that contribute to the operational success of the City’s divisions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers for best value
• Manage inventory stock levels and schedules with Storeskeeper




• Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile reports
• Prepare competitive bid documents and evaluate submissions
• Expedite orders and resolve shipment discrepancies

Requirements:
• Two years of experience as a Buyer
• Educational completion in procurement or supply chain
• Strong understanding of purchasing protocols
• Valid BC Driver’s License – Class 5
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
