We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to inspire and nurture young learners during their formative years. You will be covering for a staff member who is going off on a maternity leave ( 12 - 18 month position, dependent on the staff member) commencing approximately Nov 1, 2026.
In this vital role, you will create a protected, engaging, and stimulating environment that promotes early childhood development and learning. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help children explore, discover, and grow through play-based activities, fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while working in a team-oriented and supportive setting.
Pay is according to the scale set out by the Department of Education. You will get vacation and sick time.
Responsibilities
Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and learning.
Foster a warm, welcoming environment where children feel secure,
valued, and motivated to participate.
Support children's social and emotional development by encouraging positive interactions and conflict resolution.
Observe and assess individual progress to tailor activities that meet each child's developmental needs.
Collaborate with families to share insights on children's growth and address any concerns or special needs.
Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards.
Support children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or special requirements, ensuring inclusive participation.
Qualifications
ECE Level 1,2 or 3 preferred
Knowledge of the French language is preferred
First Aid & CPR level C
Vulnerable Sector Check
Child Abuse Check
Pay: From $16.80 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
