We're looking for a reliable, experienced home cook to prepare dinners for our household and weekly lunch meal prep for one household member. This is not a qualified private chef position — we're looking for someone with good home cooking experience who enjoys making healthy, family-style meals.
Responsibilities
Cook dinner for the household 4 nights/week (Sunday–Thursday), including menu planning, cooking, and kitchen clean-up
Batch-prepare approximately 5 lunches per week for one household member, based on their dietary preferences/goals
Accommodate household dietary needs and keep menus wide-ranging
Keep the kitchen tidy and organized, including basic food safety and ingredient inventory
Communicate weekly menu plans in advance
Occasionally help with our young child as needed (not a primary responsibility but experience with children is mandatory)
Qualifications
Positive home cooking experience; professional chef training not required
Comfortable with healthy, family-style cooking
Reliable, tidy, and comfortable working in a private home
Comfortable around a young child
FoodSafe Level 1 certification (BC) is an asset
Compensation & Details
Part-time employee $600/week flat rate
Hours: approximately 20–24 hrs/week, exact daily hours flexible and to be discussed
Groceries covered by household budget
Opportunity for additional days, hours, or responsibilities as the role develops
