POSITION: Property Manager HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm TERM: Two year F/T term position , with an opportunity for renewal based on funding REPORTS TO: Housing Manager WAGE RANGE: $ $32 - $40 per hour POSITION OVERVIEW SȾÁUTW̱ First Nation is seeking a Property Manager to support the day-to-day management of community housing. Reporting to the Housing Manager, this position is responsible for tenancy administration, tenant communication, rent and arrears follow-up, housing inspections, maintenance and repair coordination, contractor scheduling, and maintaining accurate housing and property records.
The Property Manager will work closely with tenants, Housing staff, contractors, Finance, and other departments to ensure housing concerns are addressed in a timely and respectful manner. The successful candidate will be organized, dependable, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and committed to providing respectful, culturally safe and community-centred service.
POSITION SUMMARY The Property Manager supports the day-to-day management of SȾÁUTW̱ First Nation housing, including tenant relations, rent and arrears follow-up, inspections, maintenance and repairs, contractor coordination, and housing records. The position works closely with tenants, staff, and contractors to help ensure homes are safe, well-maintained, and managed in a respectful and culturally safe manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage day-to-day housing and tenancy matters.
Communicate with tenants regarding rent, inspections, maintenance, scheduled work, and housing responsibilities.
Coordinate maintenance requests, repairs, contractors, and access to homes.
Complete and coordinate housing inspections and follow up on identified repairs or safety concerns.
Monitor rent payments and arrears and maintain accurate tenant and property records.
Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, transfers, and changes in occupancy.
Track work orders, contractor quotes, invoices, repair costs, and maintenance records.
Respond to tenant concerns and complaints respectfully and professionally.




Identify and elevate urgent health, safety, maintenance, or tenancy concerns to the Housing Manager.
Support the long-term care and maintenance of SȾÁUTW̱ First Nation housing assets.

Health & Safety Awareness – Recognizes housing and property safety concerns and ensures appropriate follow-up.
Confidentiality & Professional Judgment – Handles tenant and household information with discretion, fairness, and professionalism.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Diploma, certificate, or equivalent experience in property management, housing administration, social housing, facilities management, business/public administration, or a related field.
Experience managing or coordinating residential properties, tenancy matters, inspections, maintenance, records, budgets, or tenant communications.
Knowledge of housing operations, tenant relations, rent and arrears tracking, work orders, maintenance coordination,



and housing policies.
Experience working with First Nations, Indigenous organizations, social/non-profit housing, or community-based services is an asset.
Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation may be required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience coordinating housing maintenance, renovations, capital repairs, or asset management within a First Nation, Indigenous organization, public housing program, or community-based housing environment.
Familiarity with residential construction, building-envelope repairs, plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, mould remediation, accessibility upgrades, or preventative maintenance planning.
Experience preparing scopes of work, reviewing contractor quotes, tracking project budgets, coordinating inspections, and supporting project close-out documentation.
Knowledge of procurement processes, contractor coordination, warranty tracking, insurance documentation, and secure work practices related to housing repairs or renovations.
Experience using work order systems, spreadsheets, databases, digital filing systems, or project tracking tools to maintain accurate maintenance and renovation records.
Training or certification in occupational health and safety, first aid, WHMIS, building inspection, construction management, project management, or a related area is an asset.
Understanding of culturally safe service delivery and the importance of respectful communication when working in community members’ homes.
