Make a difference in the lives of youth at Taproot Community Support Services as a Residential Child and Youth Worker. This full time position focuses on trauma-informed care and individual development in a supportive residential setting.
Serve as a key worker for youth at the licensed Youth Horizons facility in Saanich, helping those aged 13-18 with moderate to severe behavioral challenges. Utilize your skills in assessment, individualized care planning, and relationship-building to foster personal growth. Create a safe and engaging atmosphere while ensuring safety and wellbeing through daily routines and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and set goals for individuals served
• Implement personalized service plans and care strategies
• Monitor safety and provide daily support
• Administer medications and manage personal hygiene tasks
• Advocate effectively for persons served
Requirements:
• Child and Youth Care Degree or related field
• Minimum two years related experience in child and youth care
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
• Prior experience with trauma-informed practices
• Obtain CPR/First Aid and Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificates
