Join Alpha House as an Overnight Relief Worker, providing vital support to individuals in need. This role demands availability for overnight shifts and ensuring clients' safety and dignity. As part of a front-line team, you will engage with individuals accessing shelter and detox services.
Responsibilities include conducting admissions, monitoring clients during critical times, and responding to emergencies with compassion and professionalism. Your empathetic approach and understanding of harm reduction will enhance the support provided to vulnerable populations. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct admissions and discharges with care
Monitor safety and address withdrawal symptoms
Respond compassionately to crises, focusing on de-escalation
Maintain respectful and supportive interactions with clients
Provide information on treatment options and resources Requirements:
Minimum 2-year degree in social sciences (or in progress)
Ability to assist clients and lift 35 lbs
Valid Vulnerable Sector Search required
Certifications for FOIP and Patient Lift training necessary
