Become a Community-Focused Outreach Worker with Regent Park Community Health Centre. Provide vital support to individuals experiencing homelessness and substance use issues in Toronto. This full time role within the HART Hub Team is designed for those passionate about social justice and harm reduction.
You will engage directly with vulnerable populations, offering assistance and connecting them to essential services like mental health support and housing. Building trusting relationships is key to the outreach process, allowing for effective engagement in crisis situations. Key Responsibilities:
Connect with individuals in shelters and public settings
Evaluate needs for food, shelter, and hygiene supplies
Utilize de-escalation strategies in crisis situations
Educate community members on overdose responses
Collaborate with local organizations to improve service access Requirements:
Degree/diploma in relevant field or applicable experience
Dedication to harm reduction practices and community empowerment
Solid communication and conflict resolution skills
Experience with marginalized populations and social issues
