Make a difference in student lives as a Continuing School Based Counsellor with S.D.
This role emphasizes collaboration among educators and community agencies to foster mental well-being. The 0.600 FTE assignment requires a Master's degree recognized by the College of Teachers and a valid BC Teaching certificate. You will work closely with the School Based Team, helping students develop strategies for mental health support. Successful candidates should have experience in providing preventative and remedial services aligned with best practices in youth mental health and support for diversity. Key Responsibilities:
Plan and consult on mental health strategies with staff
Provide therapy in accordance with the school structure




Handle critical incidents involving student safety
Collaborate with families and community agencies
Create and evaluate IEPs tailored to student needs Requirements:
Master’s in counselling or related discipline
Current BC Teaching certification
Proficient in managing casework for diverse students
Training in suicide risk intervention and support
Experience with the MyEd BC platform Contribute your skills in mental health intervention and educational support to advantage students at S.D. 83.
