PRISMA IS HIRING: Couples Therapists - Psychologists/Psychological Associates

Where science meets soul, and clinicians come to do their best work.

For people who don’t do stagnant. You deserve a workplace that supports momentum: ambitious, evolving, and imperfectly human.

PRISMA is a boutique psychology practice in Yorkville, Toronto, grounded in evidence-based care, emotional intelligence, real‑world effectiveness, and good humour.

We’re not a passive, insight-only model of therapy. Our work is deep, emotionally attuned, and clinically sharp. We have a robust EFT foundation and integrate from other approaches with clarity, direction, and a strong focus on outcomes.

We’re growing our couples therapy team and looking for clinicians who are genuinely energized by relationships: the patterns people get caught in, the forces that shape connection, and the possibility of helping partners create meaningful, lasting change.

If you light up when you talk about couples work, attachment, relational dynamics, and the work you haven’t even built yet, keep reading.

Who We’re Looking For*
CPBAO-registered psychologists and psychological associates, or clinicians eligible to pursue registration with CPBAO, who are:

1. Passionate About Couples Therapy
Couples work isn’t simply one item on your service list. It’s an area you genuinely want to deepen, develop, and become known for.

Whether a seasoned couples therapist or in the early stages of training, you’re curious about the complexity of intimate relationships and open to working with diverse clients and relationship structures, including LGBTQ+ partners, neurodivergent couples, polyamorous relationships, and various forms of consensual non‑monogamy.

You are interested in helping couples navigate concerns such as:

Conflict and recurring negative cycles

Communication and emotional disconnection

Attachment injuries

Infidelity and breaches of trust

Life transitions, parenting, and blended‑family challenges

Intimacy and sexual concerns

Premarital preparation

Neurodiversity, high‑achieving couples, and other relational dynamics

You may work from EFT, the Gottman Method, sex therapy, attachment‑based, systemic, psychodynamic, or other evidence‑based couples therapy approaches. What matters most is that your work is relationally attuned, clinically intentional, and grounded in a clear understanding of how change happens.

2.

Clinically Excellent & Curious
You love good science. You care about your craft. You value real, measurable progress without losing the humanity, nuance, and soul of therapy.

You’re excited to keep sharpening your work through training, consultation, deliberate practice, and thoughtful reflection.

3. Able to be a leader in the room when it matters
Couples therapy asks a great deal of the therapist.

You need to track multiple perspectives, recognize the cycle beneath the content, maintain emotional safety, interrupt harmful patterns, and keep the work moving while keeping a balanced alliance.

You can follow with attunement and step in with structure and direction. You know when to slow the room down, when to deepen the emotion, and when the couple needs help translating insight into action.

Our clients expect therapists who are both relational and directive, who can meet them where they are and help move things forward.

4. Compassionate, Anti‑Oppressive, and Self‑Aware
You care deeply about clients, colleagues, and your communities. You practice from an anti‑oppressive lens and actively work to understand your own history and biases and broaden your perspectives. You want to practice in a space that respects complexity and values ethics, safety, and integrity above all.

You approach relationships with humility and avoid imposing narrow assumptions about what a couple or family should look like. You are thoughtful about culture, race, gender, sexuality, disability, neurodivergence, faith, power, privilege, family structure, and the broader systems that shape intimate relationships.

5. Open to In‑Person Clinical Work
We’re seeing strong demand for in‑person care and are prioritizing clinicians who are available and interested in building an in‑person practice. Hybrid practice may be available, but regular in‑person availability is an important part of this role.

* We’re open to planning future start dates for the right fit.

work intentionally, and keep evolving.
