We are searching for a Utility Worker to join our Parkland at the Common team based in HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA .

About The Opportunity Processing all dishware and maintaining sanitation of dish machine, kitchen aide and dish sinks according to established cleaning guidelines
Returning clean dishware to appropriate storage areas for use by Culinary Services employees
Reports damaged equipment to management
Performs temperature checks on equipment and fridges a minimum of 3 times per day
Monitors temperatures on washing equipment to ensure that proper sanitization is occurring
Sweeps and mops all kitchen floors; ensures all garbage is disposed of in appropriate manner; cleans all garbage containers and garbage areas
Bussing of tables in the dining rooms and catering areas as required
Maintaining cleanliness to standard in the kitchen and kitchen aide areas
About You In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
You have completed High School or your GED
You can work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, prior to appointment
CPR & Emergency First Aid Certification and/or Basics Food Safety Training/ Food Handler's Course would be considered an asset
Knowledge of basic cleaning procedures, equipment and chemicals used
Previous experience working with seniors in a Retirement Living or Long-Term Care environment would be considered an asset
