Join the City of North Vancouver as a Planner 2, specializing in development planning for critical urban projects. This temporary full time role focuses on land use policies and public engagement.

As an integral part of the Planning Development & Real Estate department, you will apply your expertise in land use policies, urban design, and project management. This six-month position involves reviewing Official Community Plan applications, coordinating city responses, and overseeing public engagement activities. Your strong conflict resolution and communication skills will be essential in presenting proposals to Council and providing guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Review complex development and rezoning applications
• Coordinate City’s responses to planning inquiries




• Represent the City in negotiations for public amenities
• Prepare and present detailed reports to Council
• Supervise technical staff involved in planning tasks

Requirements:
• University degree in relevant discipline
• Post-graduate degree in Planning or Urban Design
• Experience in development planning and project management
• Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities
• Eligible for membership in Planning Institute of B.C. or Canadian Institute of Planners
