Electrical Projects Engineer - On Site EPCM Mining Ownership Team
Responsibilities
Assist the Capital Projects Manager with the execution of the capital Projects (Electrical) portfolio;
Collaborate and manage engineering firms to complete detailed engineering for projects;
Participate in constructability and design reviews including drawings, P&IDs;, project instructions and specifications;
Provide technical resource to site electrical infrastructure
Provide input and support to the construction team during execution;
Lead site-based capital projects throughout the project development process;
In collaboration with the project sponsors, develop business cases, conceptual ideas, project scopes, technical feasibility reviews;
Develop project estimates, prepare and submit Application for Expenditures requests;
Collaborate with the procurement group to execute scopes of work, tenders, technical bid evaluations and assist with general contracts management;
Lead the development of project schedules in alignment with the business requirements;
In collaboration with the Projects Cost Controller, manage project costs,
review actuals to date provide forecasts, cost deviation and recommend remedial actions to stay on budget;
What You Need To Succeed:
Post-secondary education in engineering – electrical;
5+ years of experience in mine electrical projects including infrastructure, power transmission, substations, medium to high voltage equipment, large battery storage, etc;
PMP designation is considered an asset;
A good knowledge of Ontario energy and power systems is considered an asset;
Knowledge of the mining and construction regulations;
Experience working at a work from home site is considered an asset;
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
This is a hybrid role that requires a mix of working collaboratively in the Sudbury or Timmins office and from home and on the mine site during peak construction periods.
Salary is offered at $90-$115/hour - can be a T4 employee or join as an Independent Contractor.
