Make a difference as a Temporary Full time Child and Youth Worker at George House in Brantford, ON. Support high-needs youth aged 14-16 while utilizing your Crisis Intervention Training skills.
This essential role at SOAR Community Services involves working closely within the Housing Program, providing bed-based housing and advocating for youth in care. You will use your experience to help manage client behaviors, facilitate life skills training, and encourage client advocacy. Close collaboration with partners ensures integrated services that meet the unique needs of each individual.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage client behaviors using Crisis Intervention techniques
• Monitor activity progress toward individual goals
• Advocate for clients to build their self-advocacy skills
• Provide life skills training using cognitive behavioral methods
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
Requirements:
• College Diploma in Child and Youth/Social Services preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with high-needs youth
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Access to reliable transportation
• Eligible to work in Canada
