As a Lifeguard Certified Educational Assistant, you will support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities. The job involves providing academic support, participating in pool programs, and assisting students with special needs in their daily activities. Flexibility and collaboration with teaching staff are critical to fulfill your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with Autism and developmental disabilities
• Participate in pool programs and implement special education plans
• Assist with toileting, lifting,
and yard duties
• Engage in physiotherapy exercises as needed
• Modify programs for students with learning disabilities
Requirements:
• National Lifeguard Certification from the Lifesaving Society
• Community college diploma in DSW or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience with special needs children
• First Aid/CPR Level C certification is an asset
• Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or similar
