Build a meaningful academic career as an Associate Professor of Indigenous Studies at UPEI, effective July 1, 2027. Engage in research and teaching that influences Indigenous scholarship. The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is hiring for a tenure-track Associate Professor in the IKERAS faculty.
Candidates must hold a PhD in Indigenous Studies or a related area with significant Indigenous focus. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in both research and community-focused education. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct impactful research in Indigenous knowledge areas
Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses effectively
Foster relationships within Indigenous communities
Participate in faculty service and outreach activities
Enhance the curriculum with experiential learning approaches Requirements:
PhD in Indigenous or related studies
Outstanding teaching and research performance
Experience working with Indigenous communities
Capacity for interdisciplinary collaboration
Verification of Indigenous status as part of hiring Contribute to enhancing Indigenous knowledge and educational practices at UPEI.
