Join Nisga'a School District No. 92 as a K-7 Nisga'a Language & Culture Assistant at Nathan Barton Elementary School. This temporary role focuses on enhancing language skills and cultural inclusion.

The Nisga'a Language & Culture Assistant will work daily for 5.5 hours starting September 8, 2026, until June 25, 2027. Collaborating closely with the Nisga'a Language teacher, you will engage in creating an inclusive environment in K-7 classrooms, assisting with language skill development for students. Collaborating with classroom teachers and participating in planning cultural activities is vital for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in K-7 classrooms with language development
• Participate in monthly meetings with the Nisga'a Language teacher




• Support intermediate teachers in language skills enhancement
• Work cooperatively with administration and school staff
• Engage with parents and students constructively

Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 education
• Knowledge of Nisga'a history and culture
• Training in First Nations Language Essentials curriculum
• Fluent in Nisga'a or willing to learn
• Experience with elementary students
