Western Advancement is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven fundraising leader to serve as Managing Director, Faculty Development. This is an exceptional chance to lead a high-performing team of development professionals while helping advance Western University's most ambitious priorities through transformational philanthropy.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Development, the Managing Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for faculty-based fundraising programs. Working in partnership with Deans, faculty leaders, volunteers, and advancement colleagues, the successful candidate will help identify, cultivate, and secure philanthropic support for initiatives that will shape the future of teaching, learning, research, and student success at Western.
As a member of the Development Leadership Team, the Managing Director will play a key role in setting fundraising strategy, growing organizational capacity, and supporting a culture of collaboration and excellence across Western Advancement. The role offers significant exposure to senior university leadership, including the President, Vice-Presidents, Deans, faculty members, volunteers,



and top philanthropic supporters of the University.
This position is ideal for an experienced fundraising leader who enjoys coaching and developing high-performing teams, building strong stakeholder relationships, and advancing complex fundraising initiatives. The Managing Director will serve as a trusted advisor, mentor, and strategic partner to faculty-based fundraising teams while helping drive institutional fundraising success.
The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and extensive experience in leading and motivating teams, managing comprehensive fundraising programs, cultivating major gifts, and leveraging best practices towards integration and impact through fundraising. They will excel in engaging volunteers as well as fundraisers, monitoring the major giving pipeline, and collaborating with campus-wide partners to develop impactful strategies and ensure meaningful donor recognition. A Master's degree or the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation will be considered strong assets.
