The Laboratory Technician (LT) provides a professional service in performing surgical, cytology, and flow cytometry specimen accession and processing. In addition, the LT performs other laboratory technical and non-technical functions under supervision.
What you'll be doing: Perform accessioning and processing of surgical, cytology, and flow cytometry specimens in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Empty and discard pathology specimens and waste at designated areas.
Perform equipment maintenance and inventory activities.
Provide training and support to team members, including staff and students.
Perform quality control activities.
Promote a positive and collaborative work environment that fosters teamwork, engagement, and high morale.
What you'll bring: EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: MLPAO certification required or CSMLS certification
EXPERIENCE,
SKILLS and ABILITIES: Experience in a hospital pathology laboratory is preferred
Experience in accreditation process is an asset
Effective written and verbal communication skills
