The Team
At the Port Hardy Provincial Court, our team of approximately 4 staff includes a Manager, a Supervisor, and 2 Court/Registry Clerks. This team collaborates closely with Judiciary, Crown Counsel, Defense Counsel, Probation Officers, and Correctional staff to provide essential access to justice and administrative support. The Role
The Court Clerk provides essential administrative and courtroom support to help ensure court proceedings across British Columbia are organized, accurate, and accessible to everyone who uses the justice system. Working with the judiciary, legal professionals, government partners, and members of the public, this role manages court records, technology, exhibits, financial processes, and front-counter services while providing clear, respectful, and inclusive assistance to people from diverse backgrounds, including supporting French-language trials across the province.

Qualifications:



Education and Experience Requirements

Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).

Minimum of two years' administrative support or customer service experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Minimum of one-year previous work experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).

Keyboard speed of 40 word per minute.

Valid B.C. drivers' licence.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

Experience in court programs and applications (e.g., JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD).

Experience providing customer service.

Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk.

One year of previous work experience in a legal workplace.

This position requires full-time, in-person work at the physical location listed.
This position is part time (0.6 FTE, 42 hours biweekly)
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and/or permanent vacancies.
