Job Title: Quality Control Inspector Job Description

The Quality Control Inspector validates manufactured parts against engineering drawings and the Quality Management System, accurately records non-conformances, and follows established standards and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. This role actively supports continuous improvement initiatives and quality investigations, seeks opportunities to streamline and improve work processes, and provides inspection support across all quality departments as needed.

Responsibilities

Validate parts against engineering drawings and the Quality Management System to ensure they meet all specifications and standards.

Perform detailed visual inspections using tools such as calipers and other measurement equipment to verify part dimensions and quality.

Record clear, accurate, and complete non-conformance reports, documenting defects and deviations from specifications.

Follow all safety standards, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Participate in ongoing continuous improvement initiatives and quality issue investigations, contributing observations and recommendations.

Identify and propose opportunities to improve, streamline, and re-invent work processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Provide inspection and quality support to all Quality Departments when required, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Assist in other quality inspection activities as needed to meet production and quality objectives.

Handle automotive parts and components during inspection, ensuring careful and consistent evaluation of product integrity.

Occasionally lift items up to 20 kg as part of inspection and handling duties.

Support the verification of mechanical performance and compliance with specifications for automotive parts.

Complete all required documentation and digital reporting accurately and in a timely manner.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall quality assurance goals.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 3 years of related experience in quality control manufacturing inspection.

Proficiency in inspection, quality control, and quality assurance practices within a manufacturing environment.

Strong visual inspection skills with the ability to detect defects and irregularities in parts and components.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, and validate parts against these specifications.

Experience using calipers and other measurement tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.

Capability to record clear and accurate non-conformance reports and other quality documentation.

Familiarity with automotive quality inspection processes and standards.

Ability to occasionally lift items up to 20 kg safely.

Attention to detail, precision, and consistency in performing inspections.

Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with quality teams and other departments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Engineering degree or engineering background is an asset.

Basic knowledge of automotive mechanical parts such as control arms, chassis components, and ball joints.

Ability to work overtime, including weekends, when required.





Comfort working with both physical components and digital reporting tools.

Adaptability to a quick-paced, contract-based environment with performance-focused expectations.

Interest in continuous improvement and process enhancement within quality assurance.

Work Environment
The role is based in a warehouse setting, working closely with a team of four other inspectors in a hands‑on and collaborative workplace that emphasizes precision, consistency, and teamwork. The work involves being on your feet, moving between inspection stations, handling automotive components, and using digital tools for reporting and documentation. The culture focuses on continuous improvement, with inspectors playing a key role in identifying defects, verifying compliance with specifications, and supporting process enhancements. The position operates across three shifts: day shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), afternoon shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.), and night shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), with paid lunches and pay based on a 40‑hour workweek. There is potential to work overtime, particularly on weekends, depending on operational needs.

This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, ON.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
