Reports to: Nurse Manager
Hours: 15 hours per week
Wage Range: $41.15 - $58.98 per hour (Start rate non-negotiable)
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
Status: Permanent Part Time

Position Summary The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre has 12 site groups and 26 specialty clinics, and almost 3,000 staff who see over 400,000 patient visits every year. Its 800,000 square feet house 130 inpatient beds, 373,000 square feet of research space and 17 radiation treatment machines, making it one of the largest comprehensive cancer treatment facilities in the world and the largest radiation treatment centre in Canada.
Duties Applying knowledge of nursing science, theory, skill and critical decision making in the provision of compassionate, collaborative and competent care in accordance with the UHN Qualified Practice Model for Nursing and the mission and vision of nursing at UHN;
Ensuring practice is consistent with professional standards and the ethical framework as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the UHN policy and procedure;
Demonstrating commitment to professional life-long learning by participating in continuing education activities to meet the needs of the patient population served and the standards of the profession (performing reflective practice,
analyzing and evaluating nursing knowledge and modifying practice accordingly to improve the quality of nursing and patient care;
Performing cross-functional and other responsibilities, as assigned and / or requested). Ability to float to different clinics within POD
Requirements Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred
Certificate in Oncology Nursing and/or CNA Oncology Certification preferred.
Minimum three (3) years nursing experience in an Ambulatory setting preferred.
Oncology nursing experience required
Current B.C.L.S. certification required
Chemotherapy / Biotherapy certification preferred
Demonstrated ability to utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing and evaluating care
Good verbal and written communication skills
Evidence of co-operative and facilitative relationships while working with a multidisciplinary team, and the ability to work independently
Evidence of good psycho-social and patient / family teaching skills
Demonstrated leadership / in-charge skills, and evidence of solid organizational and decision-making skills
Evidence of commitment to self-directed learning
