Responsibilities

Identify, develop, and communicate seasonal trends, colour palettes, and concept themes for Fashion and Home categories

Research emerging consumer, product, and retail trends through market research, competitive shopping, trend forecasting, trade shows, sourcing trips, and vendor engagement

Develop and maintain trend presentations and seasonal direction tools

Collaborate with internal partners, vendors, and external trend resources to validate trend direction

Improve trend and product development processes to simplify work, increase speed, and improve efficiency

Monitor trend adoption and refine seasonal direction based on customer response and business performance

Travel to the Ottawa Home Office, Buying Office in Laval, across North America, and overseas

Requirements

Post-secondary education in Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Design, Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field

3–5 years of experience in trend forecasting, product development, merchandising, buying, or a related retail role

Experience researching and interpreting consumer, fashion, product, and retail trends

Experience developing seasonal trend presentations, colour palettes, concept themes, or similar creative direction tools

Experience analyzing customer, market, and competitive information

Continuous improvement mindset with ability to simplify processes and improve efficiency

Ability to synthesize large amounts of market and consumer information into transparent recommendations





Excellent presentation and visual communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and trend forecasting platforms such as WGSN or similar

Significant travel within North America and overseas on a monthly to quarterly basis

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and maintain authorization for the duration of employment
