NHS Fife is seeking a skilled Specialist Orthoptist to enhance our orthoptic team. This role involves engaging with diverse patient groups and collaborating with various medical teams.

The position is ideal for experienced orthoptists who can work autonomously and travel across two hospital sites. Candidates will engage in practice-based learning, contribute to undergraduate orthoptics programs, and have opportunities in teaching and research. Strong partnerships with community optometrists will enrich the role, fostering a comprehensive service for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver orthoptic services for paediatric and adult patients
• Collaborate with Ophthalmology and Maxillofacial teams
• Conduct visual screening for 4,500 children annually
• Support research and audit activities
• Provide training for hospital staff and pre-registration optometrists

Requirements:
• Diploma/degree in Orthoptics required
• Registration with the Health Professions Council
• Experience in autonomous practice
• Robust commitment to patient care
• Eligibility to work in the UK
