The Therapy/Rehabilitation Aide, working under the direction of the Physical Therapist/Occupational Therapist, is responsible for the provision of therapy services assisting the regulated therapist with client service and support activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- Rehabilitation services related education an asset
- Experience in Rehabilitation services in a Continuing Care home or Health care setting is preferred
REQUIREMENTS:
- Facilitate individual and group rehabilitation-based programs for residents, under the clinical direction of a
Physical therapist and/or Occupational Therapist.
- Assist, motivate and encourage residents to actively participate in programs aimed at maintaining mobility,
function, and independence.
- Support residents to make choices and engage in activities that promote dignity, autonomy and functional
independence within their abilities.
- Demonstrate proficiency with basic mechanical tools and rehabilitation equipment, including setup,
adjustment, cleaning, and safe storage.
- Adhere to all safety, infection prevention and control, and workplace health and safety policies while
supporting residents in therapy activities.

Mandatory LAPP membership for permanent Part time and Full-time employees that work a 0.7 FTE or greater (see policy FS 03-04)
