Description The Day Treatment program is an in-person and virtual SUD treatment program for individuals with mild to moderate addictions. The goal is to provide evidence and strength based, trauma informed care short-term care to support individuals on their recovery journey. This position will provide case management, facilitate groups, and provide supportive counselling.
This position is part of a larger Mental Health and Additions team. This case management position provides assessment, care coordination, group work, and ongoing case management services.
The role involves engaging individuals with psychosocial, mental health, and addiction needs; providing SUD treatment facilitating access to treatment and community resources; supporting harm reduction and recovery-oriented goals; collaborating with interdisciplinary teams; and assisting with crisis intervention, discharge planning, and ensuring continuity of care. The position emphasizes person-centered, trauma-informed, and evidence-based practices to improve health outcomes and reduce barriers to care.

Qualifications Post-secondary education in one of the following: Social Service Worker diploma (must be eligible for registration with the OCSWSSW)
Undergraduate degree in a relevant health or social sciences field

Experience working in mental health and addictions
Non-violent Crisis intervention Certification or willing to obtain
Willing to obtain First Aid/CPR
Addictions certificate training or willing to obtain
Ability to provide case management and knowledge of community resources is required
Ability to facilitate program groups
Knowledge of suicide intervention and assessment
Understanding of the stages of change as it pertains to recovery
Familiarity with various treatment modalities
Willing to obtain WHMIS upon starting
Demonstrates knowledge and appreciation of First Nations Culture
Ability to function independently and have good personal integrity




Demonstrates ability to work well with others preferably as part of a multidisciplinary team
Awareness of, and maintains good professional boundaries
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Non-judgmental approach
Ability to communicate in Ojibway or Cree is considered an asset
Reliable attendance record
