1. JOB PURPOSE:
As a member of Fix Auto’s production team, a Repair Planner plays a key role in ensuring an accurate estimate is written and all related collision damage is captured in the estimate and documented.
2. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Repair Planner is responsible for mapping all related and non-related collision damage on the vehicle upon vehicle check in and before vehicle disassembly. After disassembly, they are to again review the damages with the auto body technician and ensure all related damage is captured on the initial estimate. The Repair Planner is also required to document repairs with both pre and post scans and in-process pictures. Other duties aimed at assisting the overall production of the shop may be assigned later.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pre/Post Scanning
Scan every vehicle upon arrival and departure
Send notes to Estimator and Production Manager on any outstanding codes
Blueprinting/Mapping
Assist in bringing in vehicles to be mapped
Mapping vehicles for related and non-related damage
Update estimator and production manager on previous damage
Provide estimates on previous damage to estimator
Take necessary photos of vehicle before repair
Getting the paint code and ensuring it is on the workorder
Write estimates on non-drive/tow in vehicles
Write all supplements after vehicle disassembly
Order additional parts
Update Estimator and Production Manager on delays or if a file needs to be sent for approval
Have Estimate “ready to send” when done blueprinting vehicle
Inform the Estimator once the Estimate is done so they can send to the customer/insurance company, order parts etc.
Update the production board as necessary
Additional Tasks
Shuttling vehicles to sublet as needed
Taking in progress photos with the Dragon camera
4. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employees may be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring personal protective equipment
Employees may be exposed to dust, hazardous chemicals and high levels of noise
Employees may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings; may have long combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting
Repetitive tasks within a fast-paced workplace
Overtime as required
5. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
EDUCATION
High School Diploma
EXPERIENCE
Experience in a customer service role
Experience estimating and assessing vehicle damage
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Strong written and verbal communication skills
