Lead the Traffic and Road Safety programs at Simon Fraser University, ensuring a secure and protected campus environment. You will collaborate across departments to promote traffic safety while effectively managing events and emergencies. As the Traffic and Road Safety Supervisor, you will oversee traffic programs and work with Campus Public Safety teams and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be practical and safety-minded, skilled in assessing operational risks and communicating effectively. This role involves monitoring traffic movement, providing education, and responding to emergencies on campus, making a lasting impact on community safety. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise traffic safety programs and coordination
- Assess pedestrian and vehicle movement during events
- Act as Incident Commander during emergencies
- Provide first aid for roadway-related incidents
- Maintain safety equipment and vehicle operations Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Four years of experience in public/community safety
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of traffic safety principles and regulations
- Hands-on ability to ensure equipment functionality Lead traffic safety initiatives while fostering community and safety at SFU.
