Location : We are seeking an experienced Catering Supervisor for the BC Place Stadium.

Sodexo Live! is the Official Supplier of Food and Beverage Services to BC Place Stadium. BC Place is a multi-purpose stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Located at the north side of False Creek, it is owned and operated by the BC Pavilion Corporation, a Crown corporation of the province. Home to BC Lions, Vancouver White Caps, Concerts and Live events, the facility hosts welcomes hundreds of thousands of fans each year, while generating significant economic activity for the Province.

Essential Responsibilities :

overseeing different areas during an event

communicating any issues that may arise with the managers

enforcing policies and procedures of Sodexo Live!

attending all briefings before every shift

awareness of any menu changes

good working knowledge of proper food handling procedures

alcohol service including last call, stopping and refusing service, checking all I.D

providing a high level of service to guests





understanding of different food and beverages options that Centerplate offers

maintaining a positive and helpful demeanour in all staff interactions and guest interactions

resolving issues that may arise with a customer in a diplomatic way in a timely manner

Monitoring guests alcohol levels to ensure the safety of each individual

helping maintain adequate stock levels throughout the event

collecting all paper work at the end of each event

have good working knowledge of P.O.S systems and the ability to troubleshoot when necessary

ensuring all staff duties are finished and staff have signed out at the correct time.

dealing with any issues that may arise with guest or staff

checking assigned areas at the end of the event to ensure everything is clean and properly stored and alcohol is locked and secured

accurately counting inventory and log transfers to other areas

Introduction of yourself to hosts or organizer to ensure their needs are being met

Documenting any incidents or concerns that may arise during a the shift

understanding par levels and product rotation to prevent product spoilage

ability to maintain inventory to ensure product doesn't run out or overstock

giving directions to the staff in an assigned areaperforming daily administration duties in accordance with assigned function

Qualifications/Skills :

Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisor role





Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience of serving experience

Must have Serving it Right

Must have extensive knowledge of wines

Must Successfully complete in-house training program

Must have the ability to lead assigned portion of staff in completion of duties

Must have in depth knowledge of F&B; preparation and presentation

Must have good working knowledge of level 3 layout

Must be able to work with limited supervision Must be able to carry large banquet trays

Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time

Must have robust knowledge of banquet set up and operations

Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral

Must have excellent team leadership skills

Must be able to unload pallets

Other Requirements :

Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
