The Program Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the secure, compliant, and high-quality operation of Flourish Montessori Learning Academy in accordance with the Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Act and Licensing Regulations.
In this role, the Program Supervisor provides leadership and guidance to classroom staff, supports the overall quality of the program, ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, and helps foster a nurturing and engaging learning environment for children aged 2–5 years.
The position also includes mentoring educators and supporting the implementation of the Montessori philosophy and program delivery.
DUTIES Program Leadership Support implementation of the Montessori educational program
Provide guidance and mentorship to educators and classroom staff
Ensure classroom environments support child development and learning outcomes
Promote best practices in early childhood education
Staff Leadership and Support Assist with onboarding and mentoring new educators
Support team development and positive workplace culture
Provide feedback and coaching to educators to ensure program excellence
Administrative Operations Act as a primary point of contact for families, managing inquiries, parent communication, and daily updates in a professional and supportive manner
Support onboarding of new families, including registration paperwork, orientation materials, and subsidy/grant applications
Maintain accurate and up to date records,
including enrollment files, attendance logs, staff certifications, health documentation, emergency contacts, and required government reporting forms
Support billing, accounts receivable, tuition tracking, and administration of provincial funding programs (e.g., Affordability Grant, Wage Top Ups, Inclusive Child Care supports)
Maintain documentation and reporting that supports compliance with the Early Learning and Child Care Act and Child Care Licensing Regulation
Provide scheduling support, including staff schedules, shift coverage, and coordination of substitutes
Order and organize supplies, equipment, and food in line with operational needs and Alberta Health Services standards
Support the organization of staff professional development records, training sessions, and certification renewals
Support monthly fire drills, ensuring attendance and emergency records are accurate and up to date, and maintain emergency backpacks, first aid kits, and classroom safety supplies
Classroom Support Provide direct classroom coverage during educators’ breaks, lunches, and transitions, for approximately one third of each day
Assist with toileting routines, transitions, outdoor play, and creating a smooth daily flow
Operational Support Assist with daily operations of the centre
Maintain communication with leadership regarding program needs and improvements
