Who We Are NETES is a not-for-profit Indigenous organization supporting the success of Indigenous people in Winnipeg. We offer adult education, skills training and employment services, along with wrap-around services such as daycare, student housing, and health and wellness programming. Rooted in community, respect, and Indigenous values, our work helps build a strong, thriving Indigenous community.
The Opportunity Kookum’s Place is an Indigenous-led, community-centred early learning program dedicated to supporting children and families through relationship-based care that honours Indigenous culture, values, and ways of knowing. Our approach is rooted in respect, connection, and belonging, with a strong emphasis on play-based and land-based learning.
We are seeking a passionate, caring, and community-minded Early Childhood Educator II (ECE II) to join our team. We are proud to provide a warm, inclusive, and child-centred environment where educators play an important role in supporting children’s development, confidence, creativity, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities Create a safe, caring,



and engaging environment for children.
Plan and support play-based learning activities.
Build positive relationships with children, families and team members.
Support children’s emotional, social and developmental needs using positive guidance approaches.
Maintain a clean, organized and culturally respectful classroom environment.
Support daily routines including meals, hygiene, rest periods, transitions, and outdoor play.
Observe and support children’s learning and development.
Ensure children’s safety and well-being while following licensing, regulations, safety, health and organizational policies.
Participate in team meetings, professional developments, and engaging learning opportunities.
Maintain required certifications and skilled standards related to early childhood education.
Other related duties as assigned.
