As an Assistant Superintendent, you will ensure project excellence through your outstanding leadership by having your key focus on effective project execution, quality, health and safety and people. As a key member of our team, we will rethink construction together, from idea to completion. Everywhere. All the time. Period.
What You Will Do Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) on site.
Ensure compliance with project-specific safety requirements, promoting Pomerleau's HSE standards and all applicable health and safety regulations.
Proactively ensure required materials are available and meet our industry-leading quality standards.
Assist in identifying workforce requirements for the project.
Support, mentor, and coach field team members.
Collaborate closely with trade partners, subcontractors, and consultants.
Help develop and maintain the construction schedule alongside the Superintendent and Project team to achieve key milestones and delivery dates.
Apply strong problem-solving skills to identify innovative solutions that improve efficiency, productivity,
and project execution.
Support project mobilization activities by working with the Project Manager and Superintendent from project start‑up.
Act as a role model during coordination meetings with clients and project stakeholders.
Ensure workforce training and certifications are current and compliant with project requirements.
Receive and inspect site deliveries in accordance with established procedures.
Support the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes.
Assist with site inventory management in collaboration with the logistics team and Superintendent.
Maintain organized and accurate site documentation.
Participate in project closeout activities and celebrate team successes.
What YOU Will Bring 3 to 5 years of experience in the institutional, commercial, and industrial (ICI) construction industry.
Certificate, diploma, or bachelor's degree in a construction-related field.
Demonstrated success delivering projects and collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Strong knowledge of construction practices, health and safety requirements, scheduling, quality control, and cost control.
Ability to quickly identify challenges,
determine root causes, develop solutions, and drive teams toward successful outcomes.
Passion for developing, maintaining, and tracking project schedules.
Strong computer skills and experience with scheduling software.
Knowledge of the British Columbia construction market and the ability to work across the province.
