We are recruiting an experienced Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.
NOTE
- Onsite - Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date - Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Vehicle Dynamics Performance optimization, using State of the Art Driving Simulator.
Responsibilities may include Operations of the Driving Simulator - Subjectively Evaluate Vehicle Performance on the Driving Simulator to Validate Suspension Architecture & Tire / Steering Requirements before Mule properties can be built - Support / lead vehicle programs with analysis/optimization of suspension, steering and tires for Full vehicle Ride & Handling - Interact with Advanced Packaging, Chassis, and Powertrain organizations to establish architectural hardpoints of steering and suspension components that are required to deliver the kinematics needed to attain desired vehicular functionality - Provide management with documentation/ results of the development activities - Engineer will be required to provide Subjective evaluations of vehicles at Chelsea Proving Grounds - Tune Suspension, Steering and Tires REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters of Science degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited or equivalent program - 2+ years of relevant experience in vehicle dynamics, vehicle dynamics simulation, ride and handling, suspension, steering, or a closely related area.
- Experience in creating controllers in MATLAB and Simulink (Bonus) - Should have experience with Ride and Handling,
Kinematics and Compliance - Comprehensive understanding of vehicle dynamics theory and application - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate activities with other functional groups - Comprehensive understanding of vehicle dynamics theory and application - Experience in Subjective Ride and Handling Evaluations PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- SAE/Baja team experience, particularly involvement with vehicle dynamics, suspension, steering, or tuning - Hands-on experience tuning suspension components or vehicle behavior in a driving simulator - Experience in Subjective Ride and Handling Evaluations - Experience with Steering System or Tires or Suspension Component Design - Must have competency with test and simulation techniques associated with Suspension, Steering system kinematics and compliance as well as full vehicle ride and handling.
- Strong Data analytical skills and the ability to interpret data for senior management reviews - Experience in the Driving Simulator environment - Experience with VI CarRealtime, VI DriveSim and SimWorkbench COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $38.00 - $42.00/hour ( depending on experience) - Paid Advantages after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
